Baby Steps

Saturday night Josh and I tested out sleeping in the same bed for the first time since the surgery.  While we both slept a little fitfully, Josh was finally able to sleep on his side for a little bit.  I had propped up the head of the mattress in the twin bed Josh was using at Ben's house, and while that made it easier for him to get in and out of the bed, it probably made it more difficult to sleep on his side.  Now that he's more comfortable getting in and out of bed, a standard queen-sized bed seems to be working just fine.  Another small milestone!

We were also able to unpack Josh's suitcase into the top two drawers of a dresser in our room, so now he can reach his clothes and dress himself rather than having me pull things out of his suitcase for him every morning. Not sure if that's necessarily a good thing, considering Josh's lack of fashion sense, but it does make things a little easier for both of us.

Rob's girlfriend Diana flew out from DC Sunday morning (she hosted a bridal shower on Saturday), so they picked us up on their way back from the airport and we all went out to lunch.  Priscilla and Ken recommended some places nearby, and we headed off to an Italian place that had a nice view of downtown.  Unfortunately, it was closed, for no apparent reason, but we still got to enjoy the view from a little park a few doors down.

We found another place for lunch and caught up with Diana.  They dropped us off at Priscilla's around 3 and headed back downtown to do some sightseeing.  Josh and I went for a short walk down to Lake Washington and back and then he took a nap while I helped Priscilla with dinner.

We had a fun family gathering Sunday evening with Ben, Laada, Laska, and Larissa; cousin Portia and her husband Luke and baby Nora; and Priscilla and Ken.  After dinner we tried taking a group photo with Ken's camera, but by the time he got the timer working properly, some of us were all a little punchy...
